With it, we launch our Travel Program that will allow our members to experience the sights and sounds of cultures our explorers have been documenting for over a century. Our goal is to immerse our members in unique cultural experiences, that will inspire them to see the world from a new perspective. This summer, we invite you to experience the Balkans, and the countries of former Yugoslavia. Short Trip Summary:
Days 1-3: Belgrade, Serbia. The city’s long and bloody history is depicted by its architecture, which varies from Byzantine and Ottoman to neoclassical and romantic, and from Art Nouveau to brutalism and Bauhaus. Other highlights are the city’s vibrant nightlife, lively people, and charming neighborhoods.
Here we will enjoy a Reception at The Royal Palace of Belgrade with HRH Prince Alexandar and HRH Princess Katherine. The Princess will give us a tour of the Royal Palace “Beli Dvor”.
Day 4-6: Sveti Stefan, Montenegro. Founded in the 15th century, the Fortress Sveti Stefan achieved fame in the first half of XIX century when it counted 100 houses, three churches, and 400 inhabitants on its tiny island. In the 1970’s it was a private playground of President Tito, and Hollywood celebrities he counted among friends. Here we will tour the town of Cetinje, Herceg Novi and enjoy a swim in the Blue Cave.
Days 6-9: Dubrovnik, Croatia. See why Dubrovnik is referred to as the “Pearl of the Adriatic”. The town is the proudest feather in Croatia’s tourist cap, an elite destination and one of the most beautiful towns of the Adriatic Sea. Here we will tour this medieval town, explore its historical side, as well as give guests an option to sail the emerald waters of the Adriatic, on a yacht.
